Ach, another Monday, another weekend gone.
Since wifey works such hard long hours these days, I get to see her for about three hours a day, and that's including the half an hour in the morning when Wonder Dog and I walk her to work. So, the weekend is where it's at. That's our time to catch up on some marital bliss.
Normally, with her inner clock still ticking on work time, she wakes up early on Saturdays, walks the dog and wakes me up with breakfast (lovely arrangement, if you ask me). But this week we both woke up early, so we took the opportunity to go into town together. We did some shopping (I bought a new bag, and wifey got a cool new belt), we did some window shopping, we looked at loads of comic shops and even got some (I bought a wonderfully silly naughty book. If there was ever a reason to learn French, it would be to understand why the animals on this weird island all have penises on their heads :-o ).
After a long day of walking around, we came home to give the dog some attention and watch the game. Then around eleven, instead of just taking the dog for his nightly walk we decided on a spur of the moment kind of a thing to go for a midnight picnic. Within 5 minutes my new bag was packed with a blanket, a bottle of red wine, and fresh raspberries we had in the house, and off we went. We sat on the grass in the park, young lovers on benches all around us, dogs playing, fountains flowing. It was as fabulously picturesque as it sounds.
On Sunday, wifey proved her age and sat glued to this website, while Wonder Dog and I were dozing off on the sofa.
All and all it was a great weekend, and if she didn't have to go into work on Sunday evening (and miss most of the final!), it would have been perfect.
My hippie mother says wifey and I were probably linked already in many other reincarnations. If I believed in that shanti-banti stuff, I might even agree.
