A daydream
flying with your feathers,
Leonardo, flying
beside you, Isaiah,
above a dark abyss,
no bloody borders,
passing over time
to the End of Days
touching peace

Dark cold cloud canopy
craving the jubilant chorus of red-capped
gray cranes.

If only, if only
I had the wings of a bird
I might from a green tree-top
see peace.

Swifts swirling in the sky
of a white city.
Summoning peace?

Polar bears
pacing on a cracked glacier to
