Miri Lavee

Israeli artist Miri Lavee is an honor graduate of the Midrasha Art Institution in Ramat-Hasharon. The daughter of Holocaust survivors, her early works strongly reflect the interplay between survival imagery and concurrent loss of self-existence. She sees her works as promoting healing and fusion of conflicting elements. Her later works explore reality intensification themes based on strong accents of light and color. Lavee's works have been displayed in museums, galleries and public institutions of Israel, Mexico and France. She resides in Karmei-Yosef, where she is actively engaged in developing new artistic works as well as teaching.

הציירת הישראלית מירי לביא היא בוגרת המדרשה לאמנות ברמת-השרון בעלת מלגת הצטיינות ברישום וציור. כבת לניצולי שואה, עבודותיה המוקדמות משקפות דואליות בין דימויי הישרדות לבין אובדן הוויה קיומית. היא רואה באומנותה יצירות בעלות שליחות של החלמה ואיחוי בין שברים. עבודותיה המאוחרות עוסקות בהעצמת המציאות באמצעות הדגשי אור וצבע עזים. עבודותיה של לביא הוצגו במוזיאונים, גלריות ומוסדות ציבוריים בישראל, מקסיקו וצרפת. היא מתגוררת בכרמי יוסף, שם היא יוצרת ואף מלמדת .
