Adi Barkan International
We have the pleasure introducing you with SIMPLY U model management, managed by Israel's leading fashion photographer and model agent Adi Barkan under the moto "returning to the healthy look" together with Adi Barkan's efforts during the past years in changing the public perception through his campaign for legislation banning the use of anorexic models. Eight years ago, following the death of famous Israeli model Hila Elmalich who died in Adi's arms from anorexia, Barkan began an intensive campaign that would require all modeling agencies and commercial companies in Israel to assess the BMI of all their models. In December 2009, he successfully submitted legislation to the Israeli Knesset requiring all modeling agencies to use the BMI exam, making Israel one of the first countries to pass such a bill.
Following the success of his campaign, Adi has embarked on a nation-wide search for the up and coming models of Israel, all who possess a healthy BMI, and in december 2009 opened a modeling agency called SIMPLY U that only caters to healthy models . All SIMPLY U models are assisted by nutritionists, trainers, and lifestyle coaches to oversee and instill a healthy minimum of 19 BMI. In doing so the modeling agency undertakes to affect the industry and in turn the public perception
