So you were given wings.
Hey, not so fast, you might…
Be careful you didn’t fly since… since when actually? Since you were born?
Yes, there’s some magical things you can do with them, and the sky are wide open and free, just like you like them.
But there’s a price that comes with that, you know.
No, not that kind of a price, no one will ask you for anything in return for your talents.
The price is what you will demand of yourself once you’ll discover your own abilities.
You see, the problem is that as you’re opening up to yourself, to the place where your passion stems from, to the place that sparks up your eyes, to the place that makes your heart pound 100 mph, you’re also opening up to a raw place.
To your raw place.
It’s called feelings.
You might think that you have exercised them all of your life, and in part you probably did, but I have to warn you though, it’s nothing like you’ve experienced before.
“Why?” you ask me?
Let me answer you with few questions, that’s what we, Jewish people do.
When was the last time that you felt adequate or powerful beyond any control and didn’t have guilt feelings about it?
When was the last time that you felt totally you and had another person to mirror it back to you with no reservations, or without asking for anything in return?
When was the last time you could say to yourself “I don’t need anyone else, I can do it on my own”, but knew that no matter what you’ll always have someone to fall back on?
Yes, you might have experienced being powerful and had no guilt feelings about it.
And yes, you also have few good friends that mirror you and ask you for nothing more than your friendship.
And you know exactly who the people are who will be there for you even if you’ll announce these silly, childish announcements like “I need no one, I can do it on my own”.
But let me ask you this, when was the last time you did all of that with your heart wide open, with your feelings so exposed, with your soul bare naked?
