Deep Blue

Deep Blue was a chess-playing computer developed by IBM. On May 11, 1997, the machine, with human intervention between games, won the second six-game match against world champion Garry Kasparov by two wins to one with three draws

You can see the match here:

Artificial Intelligence is quite an interesting subject. One that is very debated too. Deep Blue is of course the only one of it's kind. Watson is an artificially intelligent computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language, developed in IBM's DeepQA project by a research team led by principal investigator David Ferrucci. Watson was named after IBM's Thomas J. Watson. The computer system was specifically developed to answer questions on the quiz show Jeopardy!.In 2011, Watson competed on Jeopardy! against

former, winners Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings. Watson received the first prize of $1 million.

Artificial intelligence has been a subject romanticed since the begenning of the last century. There could be many implications of AI on humanity that could change the world as we know it. I think it is in our own best interest to keep up to date with the information and progress. The videos above are quite old now but that's not the last of it. Progress is being made all the time making manual labour obsolete. In the future the role of man to think will only bolden as machine will take over the physical labour. Will artificial intelligence take the role of thinking from

man?

Is computer technology on it's way to overtaking us?

Let voice to your opinions, read some of others here:

Will artificial intelligence/robots eventually eliminate company call centers with human representatives?

Why Dali is Overrated

Salvador Dali (May 11, 1904 – January 23, 1989)

They didn't call Salvador Dali "Avida Dollars" for nothing. "Avida Dollars" is an anagram for Salvador Dali meaning "hungry for cash" (Remember Lord Voldermort is an anagram for Tom Marvolo Riddle?). This attribute of his is most

prominent after he moved to New-York City at the time of World War II. Dali was full of himself and didn't deny it. He loved being the spotlights and pursued attention through many provocations.

One example of such provocation was the writing on Dali's piece "The sacred Heart" saying "Sometimes I Spit with Pleasure on the Portrait of my Mother". That was really weird seeing how Dali's mother passed away by that time and Dali and his mother had a very close relationship. Well, his father probably didn't understand art seeing as how he disowned Dali and threw him out of the house. But maybe Dali was simply misunderstood because he was a holy genius apparently. Dali left a small note for the world saying: "Every morning upon awakening, I experience a supreme pleasure: that of being Salvador Dalí, and I ask myself, wonderstruck, what prodigious thing will he do today, this Salvador Dalí." Might be every homeless man I hear proclaim himself holy, be also a genius artist?

Don't get me wrong. I love some of Dali's works and I grew up on his melting clocks and long
legged elephants. It's just that there are a lot of skeletons hidden in Dali's closet not being mentioned through the media. You only hear citations Dali himself used. Why should such a person be promoted if not only he was obnoxious and there were many other artists who were no worse than Dali? See Max Ernst works for instance. The only difference there is between Ernst and Dali is that Dali more famous.

Thank for reading and don't forget to share and recommend!

Le Planet Sauvage

Brought you some cool stuff to check out on the weekend.

The film is chiefly noted for its surreal imagery, the work of French writer and artist Roland Topor. The landscape of the Traag planet is full of strange creatures, including a cackling predator which traps small fluttering animals in its cage-like nose, shakes them to death and hurls them to the ground. The Traag practice of meditation, whereby they commune psychically with each other and with different species, is shown in transformations of their shape and interaction of science and superstition is most apparent in the Wizard, who resists the knowledge that Terr brings, fearing it will erode the power he maintains. Knowledge trumps ignorance, but in this case only after surviving an attempted 's drive to share knowledge overpowers the fear of an unknown people. Only his courage to save others not of his adopted tribe allows that tribe to overcome the loss of their Traags and Oms finally learn to live in peace and mutual benefit; presumably any groups can if they and their leaders really want to. This may have been a theme favoured by the filmmakers as it was made and released during the Cold War (the source novel was first published in 1957).

Zeitgeist : Moving Forward

"Zeitgeist: Moving Forward" is the third installment of Peter Joseph's Zeitgeist film trilogy. The film draws light on humanity's irrationality towards world economy. This is probably the root of all evil - our nonsensical obsession with money and power.Take a seat. Get focused. Watch and think.

Choices

I don't think it's weird to feel lost at one point in life or another.

Would you call yourself a determined person, that knows what he wants in life?

Do you succeed in getting those goals?

Or would you say that you don't know where you want to end up in your life nor what you want?

Do you eventually find your way?

Our decisions are what makes us us. Day in, day out you are making decisions whether you are making them consciously or "going with the flow". "Going with the flow" is making a decision just as much as making a conscious decision.

There is a certain point in life ( It changes from country to country according to it's customs and laws) where you wrongly announce "I am finally old enough and free to act as I will. Now my life begins."

It is a mistake to suppose so. You begin to live from the moment you are born and day to day, you are making decisions that make up your life and reflect inwards and outwards. I wouldn't say that otherwise your time has been wasted. In some way it's alright because everyone has his own pace and you can always change NOW, right THIS SECOND. It's only a shame if a critical mistake has been made then it's truly a shame. Yes, there are situations where there is no coming back from.

You know what's the right thing to do. Everybody knows what's the right thing to do even if not at first. All it takes is courage to face yourself and tell yourself the truth. If you're not sure, be sure because nobody is you no matter how similar another person could be to you.

You know yourself best because you are you. Don't mind the obstacles because there are always obstacles. Life is too complex for there not to be obstacles.

Why Einstein Is Overrated

Albert Einstein.  14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955.German theoretical physicist. Famously noted for his theory of relativity among other things such as discovery of the photoelectric effect. Einstein received a Nobel prize at 1921 in physics for that discovery.

Einstein is named "genius" quite on a regular basis. First off, what does "genius" even mean? There is no definite definition but generally "genius" means invention, creativity, high capacity of intelligence, originality.

There could be no definite definition because we aren't even sure what intelligence in general means. There are many variants and many specifications on the subject.

Now having that in mind let's review Einstein for a moment: "Albert Einstein, theoretical physicist". "THEORETICAL PHYSICIST". Ask anyone you want and that person will tell you that Einstein because he invented the theory of general relativity. But what does that mean? It's a theory. It's not a creation and it's not authentic because we can't really know if it's right, we're just playing guessing games and giving out prizes at random to whoever grabs our attention the most. Einstein's Nobel prize in 1921 for the photo-electrical effect was for a discovery. Yes, he discovered the effect, he didn't invent it. Kudos for the discovery but any other physicist with the same luck could have made that discovery (or a any other discovery for that matter).

By the way, yes, Einstein was known for grabbing attention.

Why Einstein and not any other theoretical physicist? Why not Seth Eddermeyer , J.Robert Oppenheim or any other of physicists that worked on the Manhattan Project? How about the other 130,000 employees?

Most of the hype began after Einstein moved to the U.S.A to avoid death in the Nazi Germany. It was most convenient for the media to use Einstein against the Nazi Germany as psychological warfare and propaganda.

Also conveniently he was Jewish making him even better for use against the Nazis, him being a known physicist.

At one point he was even asked to become the second president of Israel. Ironically he cared nothing for his Jewish heritage.

So what are we left with after so many years? Misconceptions and beliefs that originated from propaganda more over than half a century ago. Nowadays Einstein is an icon used on any commercial object be it t-shirts, cups, posters, drawings , hats. Whatever you could think of really.Useless garbage to squeeze money out of people.

Here's a list of other famous scientists, mathematicians, philosophers, artists and other people with impressive expertise in their fields of study from history who don't even get close to the same credit or hype:

Felix Hausdorff
Ludwig Wittgenstein

Leonhard Euler

Srinivasa Ramanujan
Leonardo da Vinci
MC Escher
Kurt Gödel
Socrates

Martin Heidegger
Michelangelo

René Magritte
Max Ernst

Carl Jung

Julius Robert Oppenheimer

Artists I Appreciate

1. Luca Rossi:

According to his Deviantart account, Luca is from Italy and he deals with art as a hobby. Apparently Luca also really likes drawing gentiles. Most of Luca's drawings are in ink and some in graphite mixed with ink.
An exceptional artist. Every detail a world on it's own. Probably a nut due to the fact that almost every one of his drawings contain penises, vaginas and weird sex fantasies.

"Several Leagues Under The Sea"

(Luca Rossi (Right) in a collaboration with another artist called Kenru92 from Deviantart (left)

2. Kamal Mishmish:

Also known as kmish13 around Deviantart, Kamal is from USA, Phoenix Arizona. Kamal is know to draw in graphite, colored pencils and acrylics. Recently Kamal began using oil paints with a special technique he learned in Austria, called mishe-technique. It is a special technique used by artists from old that infuses egg tempera with the oil paints to give the colors a glare like effect.
Kamal's drawings revolve around his inner world and his life in general. A lot of the times, Kamal would draw fantasy animals like cyborg fish or elephants carrying cities on back, dragons and more. At other times Kamal would take out his frustrations on paper too with dark surrealism.

"Sprawl"

3.Gur Keren:

Also known as sav2718 around Deviantart and his Youtube channel. Gur Keren is an extraordinary artist and by chance, also happens to be Israeli. Gur draws amazing psychedelic, pseudo-surreal, black and white drawings and astonishingly only with 0.4 pens. Gur's works are heavily detailed with patterns and textures. He takes inspiration from his life depicting thoughts, ideas, experiences, feelings.Gur is also ambidextrous meaning, he has no dominant hand. He is capable of drawing with both his hands simultaneously and in a recent video even drew with both hands and feet. It must also go on record that Gur is a mental calculator. On his Youtube channel you can see perform various amazing feats.

"Encrypted Biomass"

4.Richard A. Kirk:

Richard is originally from England but lives no with his family In Canada. Richard is a famous international award winning artist. Richard also made a cover for the rock band Korn.
Richard draws fantasy with a morbid like "disproportion" as he calls it because that is how he perceives perfect beauty. Most of his works art in ink.

"The Whispering Wind"
