Think Different
Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,
disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
While some see them as the crazy ones,
we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world, are the ones who do.

שיר עם מוסר השכל
Movin to the country, Gonna eat a lot of peaches Movin to the country, Gonna eat me a lot of peaches Movin to the country, Gonna eat a lot of peaches Movin to the country, Gonna eat a lot of peaches Peaches come from a can, They were put there by a man In a factory downtown If I had my little way, Id eat peaches every day Sun-soakin bulges in the shade Take a little naps where the roots all twist Squished a rotten peach in my fist And dreamed about you, woman, I poked my finger down inside Make a little room for it to hide Natures candy in my hand or can or a pie Millions of peaches, peaches for me Millions of peaches, peaches for free ***

…and I’m here , in this stupid little flat, on my own, and I’m thirty-five years old, and I own a tiny failing business, and my friends don’t seem to be friends at all but people whose phone numbers I haven’t lost. And if I went back to sleep and slept for forty years and woke up without any teeth to the sound of Melody Radio in an old people’s home, I wouldn’t worry that much, because the worst of life, i.e. the rest of it, would be over. And I wouldn’t even have had to kill myself.
-
‘Have you got any soul?’ a woman asks the next afternoon. That depends, I feel like saying; some days yes, some days no. A few days ago I was right out; now I’ve got loads, too much, more than I can handle. I wish I could spread it a bit more evenly, I want to tell her, get a better balance, but I can’t seem to get it sorted. I can see she wouldn’t be interested in my internal stock control problems though, so I simply point to where I keep the soul I have, right by the exit, just next to the blues.
[High Fidelity – Nick Hornby]

I miss you
To see you when I wake up Is a gift I didn't think could be real. To know that you feel the same as I do Is a three-fold, Utopian dream
[Incubus - I miss you]

Seasons of Love
525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life? How about love? How about love? How about love? Measure in love. Seasons of love.
525,600 minutes! 525,000 journeys to plan. 525,600 minutes - how can you measure the life of a woman or man?
In truths that she learned, or in times that he cried. In bridges he burned, or the way that she died.
It's time now to sing out, tho the story never ends let's celebrate remember a year in the life of friends. Remember the love! Remember the love! Remember the love! Measure in love. Seasons of love! Seasons of love.
[Seasons of Love - Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Jesse L. Martin, Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Idina Menzel, Fredi Walker, Taye Diggs ]

The space between us
"Wanting to explain everything to him - how certain notes of the moonlight sonata shredded her head like wind inside a paper bag; how her soul felt as endless and deep as the sea churning on their left; how the sight of the young Muslim couple filled her with an emotion that was equal parts joy and sadness; and above all, how she wanted a marriage that was different from the dead sea of marriages she saw all around her, how she wanted something finer, deeper, a marriage made out of silk and velvet instead of coarse cloth, a marriage made out of clouds and stardust and red earth and ocean foam and moonlight and sonatas and books and art galleries and passion and kindness and sorrow and ecstasy and of fingers touching from under a burqua"
"What she had meant to say was not 'I love you' at all. What she wanted to say was 'I love life', a self-declaration as naked and real and authentic as an X-ray."
[The Space Between Us - Thrity Umrigar]

Hollywood
I lost my memory in Hollywood
I've had a million visions, bad and good
There's something in the air in Hollywood
I tried to leave it but I never could
[Chorus]
There's something in the air in Hollywood
I've lost my reputation, bad and good
You're ridin' in your car in Hollywood
You got the top down and it feels so good
Music stations always play the same songs
I'm bored with the concept of right and wrong
* Madonna

A think about you
I pick up the phone I'm dialing your number while I pray you're at home, at home and alone 'cause I can't function on my own And I'll never stop believing
The reaping is done You are the one The radio is on but the sound is all gone And I wanna walk out in the sun But lately that's been very hard to do
I've got a thing about you And I don't really know what to do 'cause I've got a thing about you Hey you
I pick up the phone I'm dialing that number and my heart like a stone waits for the tone Oh I can't make it on my own And I'll never stop believing
I know what is right and this is so wrong Alone in my bed, better off on my own The TV is on but the colours are gone And lately you’ve been painting my world blue
I've got a thing about you (I've got a thing about you) And I don't really care what you do I've got a thing about you (I've got a thing about you) yea you
I've got a thing about you I've got a thing about you-ou-ou-ou
Lately you've been painting my world blue
I've got a thing about you (I've got a thing about you) And I don't really know what to do I've got a thing about you Hoping this story cuts through (this story cuts through) Yea, I've got a thing about you A thing about you
I've got a thing about you I've got a thing about you-ou-ou-ou And I don't really know what to do
I've got a thing about you (I've got a thing about you) I've got a thing about you (I've got a thing about you-ou-ou-ou)

Truce
You can have washington i'll take new jersey
You can have london but i want new york city
[...]
And if we should meet through some misunderstanding
I'll be very sweet very patient and forgiving
(Now get off my side of the state)
[...]
I am an accident waiting to happen
I'm laughing like mad while you strangle the captain
My place may be taken, but make no mistake
From a little black black box i can say without shame
That you've lost
Do you know what you've lost?
[Truce, Dresden Dolls]

Rescue me
With you I'm not a fascist, can't play you like a toy
And when I need to dominate, you're not my little boy
You see that I am hungry, for a life of understanding
And you forgive my angry little heart when she's demanding
You bring me to my knees
While I'm scratching out the eyes
Of a world I want to conqure, and deliver, and despise
And right while I am kneeling there, I suddenly begin to care
And understand that there could be, a person that loves me
[Madonna]

Got you under my skin
I've got you under my skin
I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin
I'd tried so not to give in
I said to myself: this affair never will go so well
But why should I try to resist when, baby
I know so well
I've got you under my skin?
[Frank Sinatra]

Get lonely
I will rise up early and dress myself up nice
And I will leave the house and check the deadlock twice
And I will find a crowd and blend in for a minute
And I will try to find a little comfort in it
And I will get lonely and gasp for air
And send your name up from my lips like a signal flare
And I will go downtown, stand in the shadows of the buildings
And button up my coat, trying to stay strong spirit willing
And I will come back home, maybe call some friends
Maybe pain some pictures
It all depends
And I will get lonely and gasp for air
And look up at the high windows, and see your face up there
[Mountain Goats]

I know you, you're Norma Desmond, you used to play in silent pictures, you used to be big!"
