Everyone laments nowadays about how Big Brother indicated the terrible decline of the Israeli culture (Le Monde even wrote an article saying that Yosi Bublil, that vulgar beast, represents the modern Israeli culture and its horrible decline; this statement has an element of truth in it, but it's mostly horribly misleading, and Titeuf represents a decline which can be seen as even worse). I think it shows a great amelioration: while in the Israeli version of The Weakest Link (which aired a few years ago) the participants first got rid of the old and the ugly (even if the better-looking contestants were complete idiots), Bublil (a man in his 50's) became a huge star and Shakhar Ben-David (some fat bloke) stayed there for over a month. Then again, I don't watch it, so I can't really tell. But it's something to think about.
Unum diem...
