Hi my friends, London calling.
I have so much to write, I really don't know where to start. Time is so short and I never do all the things I want to do.
Yesterday the sun shined and I had plans to go down to the river but I made the mistake of going into NEXT and did not leave the shop for an hour. Yes - I left with bags and that is the worst thing you can do early in the day because it means that you have to shlepp them all day. But what could I do - there were certain items that I just could not leave in the shop....
So I decided that I wil surrender to my urge for some hard core shopping... I must confess that I did not cover much ground yesterday - three shops to be exact and I can tell you one thing - clothes are heavy...LOL. I nearly got arrested in Marks and Spencer for taking photos of the Christmas decorations for Pema... But my activities yesterday were certainly inline with what is known as the "Christmas spirit". This, basically means: Shop till you pop. Christmas, you see, is all about giving presents. So you are obliged to hit the shops, that are waiting for you all nicely decorated with special gift packs and offers. Christmas songs play over the speakers and although it is nearly two months away, they do everything to get you into the mood.
I must tell you, girls, a bit about the fashion here: First of all, my post regarding Macrame has become unbelievably relevant - knitting is back big time!!! ( I can't remember if I kept my knitting needles) .
Check your boydems for those old crocheed scarves - they are the latest. And while you're up there, check if you have a poncho - preferably hand knit. Ponchos are back!
Baby pink is the rave - I love it and it suits me so I have a whole new set of pinkies....
That's it for my fashion guide for now. I am going to absorb some culture so I don't become completely hollow in the brain.
Before I go I must also tell you about this special day, here in England: Tonight is Guy Fawkes night. Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the house of parliament in 1605 and was caught. Since then, England celebrates the date he was caught with bonfires and fireworks.
I remember as a child that we would light fireworks in the garden but I have never since been here on this date so I am looking forward to seeing some fireworks tonight!!!
Hope you are all well and happy.
Love, your darling.
