Trains (2) / Achilles
The two sentences you sent me,
or was it just one,
filled my head,
and went sliding down my spine
like snakes of shivers,
then broke into pieces of words,
which nailed my feet to the cold platform,
of this far and deserted station.
Alone I'm standing,
checking desperately,
all the flickering, passing-by trains,
waiting for you to return
aboard the one that had taken you away,
pinning hopes on every faint beam
of yellow headlights,
which cuts its way
like a spear of lightning
through veils of mist,
through curtains of rain,
through millions of snow-flakes butterflies.
