I spoke to a classmate today about the T-SLAM episode of RedBand. I wanted to ask her about the fight between RedBand and T-SLAM and who does she think should've won, but she hasn't seen that episode.
Anyway, I personally think RedBand should've been declared victorious. They absolutely best T-SLAM.
You see, when I listened to RedBand, images of the wide-open spaces, the beautiful mountrains, the great rivers, the wonderous views of northern America came before my eyes. I saw brave riders wandering the great plains, I saw before my eyes a unique culture manifesting itself in extrafine poetry. As anti-militant as I'd like to be, the line 'With a sword and a pistol by his side', sung by Red's rugged voice and accompanied by Poncho's simple guitar, was astonishing.
However, when I listened to T-SLAM, my mind became shrouded. I saw nothing, except for in the song 'Strong Radio' (what a retarded name!), in which I envisioned a teenage girl waving her body, fist in air, to the rhythm of terrible 80's music, with her boyfriend next to her, in an agonising thinking of his lack of understanding what the fuck had hit him. T-SLAM has nothing.
Egad, apparently, these are subtleties only poets can sense.
By the way, a declaration: I, An Cat Dubh, shall marry the first person to decipher the meaning of the post with Basho and Sora. (Unless ou doesn't want to, and then it's a bummer for everyone else.)
