Yesterday was so much fun! Mom and I headed downtown. We got off the L in the wrong station, based on my memory of how long the trip took (XD), but it was inside the Loop (the interesting area of Chicago), so there wasn't a lot of walking to do. We actually forgot our maps of the city, because we're that brilliant, but we managed to find our way to our old hotel by memory alone! (And it's been three years, mind you.)
We headed down the Magnificent Mile. It's this amazingly beautiful area, with lots of shops and everything. We stopped at the Apple Store, where we got
this beautiful baby. It's a 32GB 5s, and I'm seriously in love with it. While I was organizing it at the Apple Store, I got a chance to talk to one of the saleswomen. It was so much fun. We were comparing Apple experiences, talking about music... Fun. She was amazed by how many things I have on my iPod Touch.
After that we headed to the John Hancock Center. We made the way to the Observatory, which is a 1000 feet (300m) above Chicago. We saw the entire city and beyond (for example, the
Navy Pier). We also took the opportunity to try the newest attraction - the 360Chicago Tilt! Bascially, you're standing in front of a glass and the floor you're standing on tilts 30degrees towards the ground. It's scary as hell, but I did it twice.
Once we finished there we went to the Water Tower Center, which is also on the Magnificent Mile. We're had lunch, visited the LEGO store (
LEGO Movie Lego in the Lego store) and then headed back to the L stations area. We managed to make it back to our hotel safe and sound. :-)
I also met a friend I've met two years ago. We got talking and I met a few more new people. It's so much fun to be surrounded with hundreds of people quoting your favorite show, wearing its shirts and costumes and talking about actors. It feels so... whole. And it doesn't have the over-filled vibe of FedCon, which is fun.
This morning we walked around a bit, found the Columbia Centres (apparently there are three!), saw the Convention Center... It was fun. I'll upload a few photos to my
instagram later.
And now it's convention day! Everybody's getting ready, people are already sitting in line... This is perfect. <3
